The Army Benevolent Fund is looking for the unit that has made the greatest contribution to fundraising over the coming year. The winning unit will be awarded the prestigious Carrington Drum (right).
To be in with a chance of winning your unit should either try to raise the most amount of money for the ABF or come up with the most innovative or original fundraising idea. You can either organise a one-off event or, to be in with an even better chance of winning, you can fundraise for the ABF throughout the year.
For handy tips on fundraising, visit our fundraising page.
The competition is open to all units and sub-units of the Regular, Territorial Army and Army Cadet Force.

The winning unit will be announced annually in May and the presentation of the Carrington Drum will be made at a special reception. There, you and your colleagues, as personal guests of the ABF, will be presented with the drum.
Made by Carrington & Co, the makers of regimental silver, this beautiful silver drum will be engraved with battle honours of the British Army. The plinth will also be engraved with the name of your unit and can be displayed in your mess for one year - unless of course, you win it again!
Each year your unit will have the opportunity to win the Carrington Drum, which will come to represent what the Army as a whole does for its own charity year on year.

To enter the next competition, please download and complete the Carrington Drum Application Form (36kB), summarising what your unit has done for the ABF over the year and the amount of money that your unit has raised.
By the beginning of April 2008 you should return the form to your local ABF Regional Director of Fundraising. These are listed in small print at the bottom of the form or visit our Regional Contacts page.
Good luck and thank you for helping us support 'the best'.
"This is an opportunity for the Army Benevolent Fund to thank units of the Army for their hard work on our behalf. I hope this award will encourage them to continue with even greater vigour."
Controller of the ABF, Major General Sir Evelyn Webb-Carter
